In Sunil Tukaram Jangapalle v. State of Maharashtra, the Bombay High Court granted anticipatory bail to the applicant in an FIR registered under Sections 406, 420, 465, 467, 468, and 471 of the IPC. The complainant alleged that the applicant wrongfully took possession of a MHADA-allotted flat using documents she had signed earlier. However, during the proceedings, both parties informed the Court that the dispute had been amicably settled, and Consent Terms were filed and recorded. The complainant was present and confirmed the settlement. Considering the private nature of the dispute and no objection from the State, the Court accepted the settlement and granted bail on execution of a PR bond of ₹30,000 with sureties.
